Bryan Sorensen Groove Trio
In 2012, Bryan Sorensen posted an ad on Kijiji for a bassist. Shortly after, Jon Becker, Bryan Sorensen and Richard Hone (Bryan's long-time friend and drummer) found themselves performing in Hamilton's local live music scene.
Bryan later became a resident musician at the Copacabana in Toronto, performed with Shamakah Fatback, Rich Brown, and members of LMT Connection, and began shaping the signature sound of the Groove Trio — a blend of talkbox guitar and tight groove.
The Trio released two EPs, including Stealing From The DJ and Electronic Love, winning Hamilton and Niagara Music Awards for Best Dance Recording, Best Original Song, and multiple other nominations.
Their dynamic performances have featured at the TD Niagara Jazz Festival, Twilight Jazz Series, Fallsview Casino, and many other venues.
In 2025, the Groove Trio closed out the Niagara Music Awards with a high-energy performance — their fourth appearance at the NMAs — and now bring that same magic to Ribstock on Saturday, June 21st.
